Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD)

Part Two

Managing Rejection Sensitivity and RSD

In part one we looked at why those of us with ADHD struggle so often with Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) – a term coined by Dr. William Dodson to describe the acute fear of rejection that many of us face.

In part two we’re packing you up with a toolkit of strategies to manage RSD. These include a wide variety of techniques - from quick self-administered bilateral stimulation, soluble paracetamol, through to preventative measures and emergency de-escalation tools.

I remember the isolation before my own ADHD diagnosis, believing that everyone around me was simply better at coping with these feelings. The shame was overwhelming. I want to share with you that although the impact of RSD can be profound, there are effective strategies to lessen its grip on our lives.
